The Devils have acquired forward Tuomo Ruutu from the Carolina Hurricane for center Andrei Loktionov. and a conditional third-round pick in 2017. Loktionov had 4 goals for NJ while Ruutu has 5 goals but carrys a hefty contract of 2 years at 4.75 per with him.  Don't like this deal AT ALL

Game 63 Recap: Late Tip Equals Devils Win

Today is the day we find out whether or not Martin Brodeur will finish out his contract with the New Jersey Devils or get moved to another team to finish out that contract and if he ends up moving to a different team, then we watched Brodeur play his last game as a Devil against […]

Despite Win NJ Still Needs To Address Issues

The Devils were excellent in their 5-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets last night. Henrique stepped up his game last night, much like I wrote about wanting him to prior to the game and much like I hope to see him do in this stretch run. Enough can’t be said about Jagr’s goal in […]

Is Henrique A Key To Winning?

Adam Henrique currently ranks 3rd on the team with 14 goals, 7th on the team with 13 assists and 6th on the team in overall points with 27. Not exactly a player that has been putting the Devils on his shoulders and carrying them this season. Especially when you consider that Henrique he has only […]

The Poker Phenonemon in the NHL

How NHL teams and players have become hooked on poker Besides cheering for Team USA at the Sochi Winter Olympics, hockey players preoccupy themselves with a lot of activities during this brief break from the NHL season. From basketball to football, these players engage in other sports as their way to remain physically fit during […]

Devils Tinker Lines In Order To Spark Offense

A lot of attention has been paid to the Devils lack of ability to get the puck in the net. Of course this issue has hit full stride after back to back loses where the Devils blew a 1 goal lead late in the game only to watch that all important 2nd point get away […]

Devils Blow Another Lead Late, Lose in OT

When the season comes to a close in April and the Devils are on the outside looking in, one could absolutely point to the horrible shoot-out record this year (0-8) and specifically, these last 2 games where the Devils had 2 points in their reach and only walked away with 1 point in each game. […]

Game 29: Devils Fail in Shootout..AGAIN!!

I think the most frustrating part about the Devils/Canadiens matchup was that the Devils were right there, ready to skate away with 2 points and somehow the Canadiens were able to answer right back after the Devils took a 3-2 lead with just over a minute to play. In OT the Devils had their […]

Game 25: Hurricanes Come To NJ

The Matchup Carolina Hurricanes (9-10-5) visit the New Jersey Devils (9-10-5). These two teams are currently battling it out for 4th and 5th place in the Metropolitan Division with NJ sitting in 4th and Carolina sitting in 5th but both have 23 points in 24 games played. The Devils are coming off a disappointing 3-1 […]

The Brodeur Vs. Schneider Debate In New Jersey

Martin Brodeur has been the starting goaltender for the New Jersey Devils for as long as I can remember.  Almost 21 years, and for most of his career, he has consistently won at every level, the NHL and the Olympics.  With Stanley Cups and Olympic Medals to his credit he has already secured a place […]

Devils Get Dominated All Night But Still Win

You knew going into this game that we would be reminded over and over again that the last time the Devils were in this building, they lost the cup. At least it appears that we’ve gotten past the point of blaming Steve Bernier for it because I don’t recall being reminded of his boarding penalty […]

Game 22 Recaplet: Devils Win

First it was Pittsburgh, who if you watched the Pens/Caps game the other night is a pretty darn good hockey team, and then it was the unbeaten at home Anaheim Ducks and now, it’s the mighty Los Angeles Kings. That’s right, 3 in a row!! I was worried about this road trip because the […]
